Hello everyone, I have a problem with a broken glass door on my Ikea Metod kitchen cabinet. Specifically, it is the glass front door that got a crack due to an accident, but it is still intact, meaning it hasn’t shattered or broken. My question is how I can repair or at least stabilize this door myself without having to buy a completely new door, which is quite expensive. Does anyone know a method or material to secure the crack, possibly with glue or a type of repair film? I would also like to know if the door can be removed easily without causing any damage, to make the repair easier. I appreciate any tips, especially if anyone has experience with Ikea Metod glass doors – how to remove them, which tools are needed, and how to safely reinstall them afterwards. Thanks in advance!

Usually, it is a click system where you need to press or lift a small lever on the hinge to release the door from the frame. Important: Do not apply pressure on the glass panel, only on the hinge mechanism.
If you carefully lift the hinge lever with a flat screwdriver and then pull the door evenly upwards or outwards, you can normally remove the door intact. Often, the door is heavier than expected, so make sure to have a firm grip.
After reinstallation, check the hinge position and door alignment, as any mistakes can prevent the door from closing properly. Especially during repairs, it’s worth assembling and disassembling the door several times for adjustment.
