Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the cleaning of IKEA Metod fronts.
Many people know the problem: the fronts often appear streaky after cleaning, especially the white and glossy versions. I would like to know how to clean these fronts as effectively as possible without damaging them and, of course, without leaving unsightly streaks.
Which cleaning products are best suited? Do you need special tools, such as microfiber cloths? And what is the best procedure to keep the fronts looking good for as long as possible?
I look forward to your tips and experiences!

For example, there are fronts with high gloss, matte, or melamine coatings. This is a very important point.
My recommendation for high-gloss fronts is to always use a lint-free, soft microfiber cloth. Use mild soap solutions here as well, and never harsh cleaners or abrasive agents.
Matte-coated fronts are somewhat more durable but still sensitive to scratches. Therefore, the same principle applies: be gentle, use mild cleaning, and wipe dry to prevent water spots.
Melamine-coated fronts are comparatively resistant; however, aggressive cleaning agents should still be avoided.
In general: test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area before the first use to avoid unwanted reactions.

I’ve always found a simple trick very helpful: After wiping down with a diluted vinegar and water mixture, go over the surfaces again with a dry leather cloth.
This gives the fronts a really nice, streak-free shine, especially on white high-gloss fronts.
And very important: Don’t press too hard; I think this is often underestimated.
Good luck to everyone with cleaning—your kitchen will thank you!
