Hello everyone, I recently purchased several IKEA Platsa furniture pieces and am now facing the problem that my floor is uneven. Because of this, the shelving wobbles slightly, which not only looks untidy but also carries the risk that the furniture could tip over. I am therefore interested in which methods or tools can be used to stabilize and securely level IKEA Platsa furniture on uneven floors. Are there specific adjustable feet, leveling materials, or other practical solutions that have proven effective in practice? It would also be helpful to know how to proceed if the floor has varying degrees of slope or minor irregularities. Thanks in advance for your tips!

The furniture simply isn’t designed for significantly uneven floors. That is true, but the possibilities for compensation should not be underestimated. The floor often cannot be leveled without major effort, so practical solutions are needed:
- Adjustable feet: There are universal furniture feet with threaded stems that can be screwed under modular units to precisely compensate for unevenness.
- Flexible pads: Felt or plastic pads can cushion small height differences.
It is important that the furniture has a stable support as a result. Combining this with wall mounting prevents tipping hazards. Overall, these measures are sufficient for common floor irregularities.
Hello Gregg65,
When dealing with uneven floors and IKEA PLATSA furniture, there are a few simple basic rules:
- First, assemble the piece of furniture roughly in its intended position.
- Then use a spirit level to check which areas are not resting properly.
- Insert small wooden wedges or adjustable feet at these points until the furniture stands level.
- To increase stability, always use the provided wall mounting brackets—especially important for taller units.
- Optionally, you can place non-slip rubber pads underneath to prevent sliding or damage to the floor.
If the furniture wobbles significantly due to the floor, it might be helpful to use a leveling floor panel underneath. However, this is usually only necessary on extremely uneven surfaces.
I hope these tips help you out!

To increase stability, be sure to use the supplied wall anchors – especially important for taller modules.I fully agree with this. It’s not just about alignment but, above all, safety. Even if the floor is sloped or uneven, wall anchoring remains the most important measure to prevent tipping accidents.
One more tip: When installing wedges or adjustable feet, make sure they are securely fixed and cannot slip. If necessary, you can additionally secure them with double-sided tape.
