I own the IKEA induction cooktop NUTID HIN4T.
Today, while cleaning, I accidentally activated the child lock and now I don’t know how to deactivate it. Unfortunately, I can’t find my user manual and I’m not sure what to do!?!?
Could someone who also has this induction cooktop or knows how it works please tell me how to unlock it?

I have spent quite a long time looking but couldn’t find anything, no matter how I searched, and I do know how to search.
In any case, I can offer two small tips:
1. TURN OFF the fuses (cut the power) and then try. (Some models allow this!)
2. Try something like pressing a BUTTON and IMMEDIATELY after that pressing both " " and "-" at the same time, then release and immediately press " " to activate or "-" to deactivate.
This is a guide for some other device. Trial and error is key! The best approach is to experiment around like this; eventually, you’ll figure out how it works. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any instructions for this exact device online despite my best efforts.
Be sure to cut the power (just the stove circuit breakers) and leave it off for a few minutes. Some electronics have non-volatile memory that can retain settings due to stored energy for several seconds or even minutes after power is cut.
With bad luck, it’s been flashed and stays programmed permanently (stored in a chip that doesn’t need power to keep its data).
In that case, the only option is to call Ikea or send them an email—they usually provide help very quickly.
Of course, you want to cook, and it never feels fast enough I’ve done my best.
Mostly try combinations of button presses. (Use a bit of logic on how the programming might work—like pressing something during or right after switching on, and assuming " " might mean activate, so don’t just press randomly, but think it through.)
And turn off the power; that might already solve it! (Wait a few minutes so any electrical buffers can drain, if the device is designed that way.)

I actually had to turn off the circuit breaker, waited a few minutes, and then it worked again.
I would have called IKEA, but nobody is available on Sundays, and I needed the stove today.
It’s frustrating because I don’t know what I pressed to activate it. It happened by accident while swiping over the controls, but I’m not sure exactly what I touched...

So in the end, the problem was only solved using electricity—I could have made things easier for myself, but I searched for the manual for so long that I got a bit carried away explaining, haha.
But try emailing them (see the Questions & Answers/FAQ section at the bottom of the Ikea page) to ask if they can send you the manual again as a PDF. I’ve received manuals by email even from the cheapest companies (cheap products sold by supermarkets) through their service centers.
Give it a try. Ikea is good, but be patient and keep in mind that sometimes things can go wrong. Be patient, and if nothing happens, ask again—but stay calm. That’s how it was for me too. The issue with the vouchers they unexpectedly promised me for my small complaint but didn’t send. Two months later, after providing details of the email exchange (important), I got a big apology, and they sent them right away. It only took two days, and then it arrived (it had been left lying around).
But it’s nice to be able to help sometimes. I just couldn’t find the silly manual anywhere online. I’m currently laid up, so I have time—and I took it. Sorry.
