Hello everyone,

I am currently looking into the best way to clean Metod fronts gently in order to preserve their original shine for as long as possible. Many common cleaning agents or overly aggressive cleaners tend to leave surfaces looking dull over time or even cause microscopic damage that significantly affects the gloss.

I am particularly interested in which cleaning products or methods have proven effective for regular cleaning of the fronts without roughening the coating or surface. Are there specific products that are less aggressive yet still effectively remove dirt and grease?

Additionally, any tips on how to apply them would be helpful: What is the best approach, which tools (types of cloths, pads, sponges) are suitable, and how often should the fronts ideally be cleaned?

Thanks in advance for any detailed advice and experiences!

I use a soft cotton cloth and lukewarm water for my Metod fronts. Cleaners only sparingly, mild soap if necessary. Do not apply pressure.

The best choice is pH-neutral cleaners and a soft microfiber cloth.

This leads me to the next question: What about the material of cleaning cloths or sponges?

Are traditional microfiber cloths really ideal for Metod fronts, or could they also cause minor scratches? Are there alternatives, such as special polishing cloths, that might be more effective and preserve the shine? Or should only cloths specifically designed for delicate surfaces be used?

Microfiber cloths are usually the best choice for Metod fronts. They absorb dirt well and are soft enough to prevent scratches.

Polishing cloths can be effective if the surface is already well maintained. Otherwise, depending on the coating, they may be too abrasive.

Alcohol-based cleaners can damage the surface of Metod fronts and reduce their gloss.

Is there a recommended alternative for disinfecting these fronts while keeping them hygienically clean in the kitchen? Especially with current hygiene requirements, I don’t want to compromise on effective cleaning or lose the shine.

A mixture of water and a small amount of vinegar essence is a good alternative. Vinegar cleans and has antibacterial properties but causes little harm to the surface if not too concentrated. Afterwards, wipe again with water.

Vinegar water is effective, yes. But always use it diluted. Test it on an inconspicuous spot and do not use it too often. This way, you avoid loss of gloss.
