Do you always want to run down to the basement to get the vacuum cleaner or a packet of pasta? We have to do that right now, and it’s really annoying!
Where should we put sports bags and similar items?
And where exactly is north?

You have clear ceiling heights of 251 and 238... you should seriously question at least the latter.

How do you come to that conclusion?

The clear, meaning finished, height on the ground floor is 2.56 m (8 ft 5 in) and in the attic from the 2.00 m (6 ft 7 in) line it is 2.495 m (8 ft 2 in); for completeness, the basement is 2.25 m (7 ft 5 in) 😉

I’m a bit of a dummy here (hope no one’s named Horst)… sorry 😀 I only saw the measurements inside the house and assumed that the top distance would match that of the floor level – it’s always a bit tricky with pictures on a mobile device.

Now that I’m on a desktop: I find the upper floor okay, but why is the bathroom door smaller? (Or is it just a visual distortion?) The room might be a bit dark if you prefer bright spaces – I can’t really judge this with the double casement window. Personally, I would prefer to enlarge the window if possible and skip the double casement windows altogether.

On the ground floor: I would move the WC door slightly to prevent it from ever clashing with the front door. I might add a window to the wardrobe, which would also brighten up the hallway. Does the dining area have a window? If there’s nothing blocking the view, I would consider installing about 3 meters (10 feet) of fixed glazing there or something similar. I would miss having a small storage room. It’s a pity to have such a nice window but only look into the room… I would definitely change that somehow.

Thank you again for the suggestions, which we have considered and have already started to implement. Best regards, Nadin
