Hello,

Has anyone here installed a fingerprint door entry system or is planning to do so and can recommend some good systems or manufacturers?

Thanks, and I’m looking forward to your answers 🙂

So they have had the system for about 4 years now.

I have a Suedesign front door with a Fuhr motorized lock and Fuhr fingerprint scanner. There are also remote controls included, which came with the lock. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the door, as is the control unit. It works very reliably, even with my damaged hands. The door lets my husband in less frequently, but he has very rough hands with scars, calluses, and thick skin from his work. Therefore, he uses the remote control.

Ewwww :-D

May I ask how much extra this cost compared to a standard lock?

Hmm, no idea what a "standard" lock costs. The motorized lock (multitronic 881) from Fuhr costs, I believe, around 1500 euros plus a fingerprint scanner, the complete technology package was included for 2000 euros.

We will probably install the Monolith door station from Wantec, which, as far as I know, also includes a scanner from EKey. So far, I have only read positive reviews about this model and also about EKey.

After the door station arrived a few days ago and the appropriate PoE switch was delivered today, I have now tested the device.

I am impressed. 🙂
Great build quality, quick to set up.
As a SIP client, the device now runs through the Fritzbox. When the doorbell rings, all Fritzphones ring and display a still image from the door camera.

With the press of a button, the door opener can then be activated. However, I haven’t tested that yet, nor the EKey reader.
