Hello everyone,
I am considering getting an IKEA PAX wardrobe. However, my bedroom is quite small – it measures only about 2.80 m (9 ft 2 in) wide and 3.20 m (10 ft 6 in) long. So my question is: Does PAX also fit well in small bedrooms?
I am especially interested in whether PAX can maintain a good sense of space despite the compact room size, or if the wardrobe tends to feel too bulky. I am also curious about design options, such as sliding doors or customizable interior fittings. Has anyone had experience with PAX in small bedrooms and can share how it affected the use of the room?
I would really appreciate tips, opinions, and specific experiences!

Often it helps to work with the IKEA planner (or other room planners) before buying, to get a feel for the proportions.I can only agree – nothing helps you better assess whether Pax fits into your small space than some virtual furniture rearranging.
And if you choose sliding doors, you can enjoy the luxury of not bumping into anything – a real game changer in tight spaces.
Small but mighty: with the right colors and cleverly designed interior fittings, PAX doesn’t just look practical, it almost feels a bit magical when it comes to saving space!

Take the 35cm (14 inches) option. That's true – especially with the shallower depth, you need to carefully plan what you actually want to store inside.

Maximize the height to gain more storage space.Exactly. Another tip from me is to use the upper areas for items you rarely use, and keep the lower shelves easily accessible.
One more thing: in small rooms, the bed placement also affects how the wardrobe feels. More space between furniture creates a sense of openness, which has a positive visual impact.
Maybe you’d like to share some details about your floor plan so we can assist you more specifically?
