In April 2015, I renovated my kitchen and have been using an IKEA Välgjord dishwasher without any issues since then.

Positives:

The dishwasher operates very quietly and offers plenty of storage space and flexible options. The dishes come out clean and dry (except, of course, plastic items and water in horizontal recesses/bases of dishes). There are only minimal limescale deposits (water hardness level: hard, total hardness 20).

The LED spot on the floor indicates the status (red: program running, green: program finished), which serves as a small substitute for the remaining time display (only visible when the door is open).

The Eco program works perfectly. Although it takes nearly 4 hours, everything is cleaned and dried well. This is my favorite program.

The delay start function is also very useful; since the dishwasher runs very quietly, it can easily start early in the morning and be ready by breakfast.

Tested Detergents:

alio compact dishwasher powder, alio salt, and alio rinse aid (Aldi-Süd)
Denk mit (dm) dishwasher powder

Negatives:

Auto Program

Tested once, but unfortunately, the results were not good. The automatic program assumed the dishes were clean and finished after 45 minutes. However, there were some heavily soiled items in the Välgjord that, of course, were not cleaned properly. The sensors cannot work miracles. I do not recommend the Auto program.

_______________
The product description states:

"- The hygiene program for cleaning the interior and water tank automatically starts after every 6th wash cycle."

I cannot confirm this. The user manual does not mention anything about this, and the English text on [ ] does not refer to this function either.

Hi,
I’ve also had this dishwasher for a few weeks.
I agree, it’s very quiet, and I also prefer to use the Eco program. Once I tried the very short 30-minute cycle for lightly used dishes, which worked great.

I do have issues with the cutlery tray... no matter how I place the coffee spoons, they slip out of the holder and often end up handle-down toward the lower rack, which then gets caught when pulling out the lower basket. During the wash cycle, everything stays in place, but since you open the rack several times daily to load dirty dishes, it’s a bit frustrating.
I have the same problem with regular knives—they don’t stay in place either.
Only forks and soup spoons hold quite well.
It’s definitely annoying; I’m wondering if I just don’t have the right kind of spoons... mine aren’t from Ikea after all.

But maybe someone has a tip or is experiencing the same issue...

Best regards
