Hello,
we want to use a tall cabinet (60x60x240 cm [24x24x94 inches]) from IKEA for the refrigerator. However, we would like to use a refrigerator from a brand other than IKEA.
Can anyone tell me the maximum width and depth the refrigerator can have to fit inside a 60 cm (24 inches) wide cabinet?
Would a refrigerator measuring 55.8 cm x 54.5 cm (22 x 21.5 inches) fit as well, even though IKEA refrigerators measure 54 cm x 54.9 cm (21 x 21.6 inches)?
Is there anything I need to consider regarding the attachment of the refrigerator door to the cabinet door?
Thank you very much for your help! Lisa

IKEA cabinets are deeper than those from other kitchen manufacturers. Therefore, the depth should not cause any issues. With a clear width of 56.4 cm (22 inches), the width is also not a problem.
You need to ensure that the appliance doors are fully covered by the fronts, and for appliances with a plinth-mounted compressor, the manufacturer's ventilation requirements may not be met.

Hello IKEA expert,
thank you very much for your message!!
How exactly should I follow your advice to "make sure that the appliance doors are completely covered by the fronts"?
And wouldn’t some space (20cm (8 inches)) under the refrigerator (we want one without a freezer compartment) be sufficient for plinth ventilation (in case we can’t find one without plinth ventilation—as I actually can’t find this information on the Bosch pages ...).
...thank you very much!! And have a great weekend! Lisa

IKEA-Experte2 Dec 2016 16:18Yes, it works. It doesn’t have a base unit with a cutout in the cabinet floor that allows the compressor to use the space in the base. If the model is installed cleverly, a 140 cm (55 inches) high front is sufficient.
