Hello,
we are planning to buy an IKEA kitchen and would like to install a fully integrated brand dishwasher.
Has anyone had experience with which models fit with this mounting rail?
Or what should be considered when purchasing to ensure that an external appliance fits into the cabinet?

Thank you very much

I am still in the planning phase and have no practical experience yet. However, I was told that the reason why there are no specifications regarding the fitting for IKEA appliances is that, in the past, there have been some issues and customers tried to hold IKEA liable. It seems to be an internal policy that IKEA does not provide any statements on compatibility. Since the external dimensions of Bosch/Siemens appliances are identical or very similar to those of the IKEA devices, I will give it a try.

Has anyone had experience with the hinges?

Hello,
I have no experience with this, but from what I see in the manual, it seems to be exactly what you want to avoid.
That is, at least 5cm (2 inches) of space underneath the machine, where the lower part of the door trim then folds away.

Hello,

I have the folding hinge for Siemens here with me. I bought it afterwards because the hardware store said that 80cm (31.5 inches) fronts would be no problem with Siemens XXL dishwashers. But that’s not the case. The maximum front height for the XXL dishwasher is 77.5cm (30.5 inches).

So you have to neatly cut 2.5cm (1 inch) off the front, attach the folding hinge, and then fix the ‘new’ strip to it. However, there is another issue. The hinge mount is about 4.5cm (1.8 inches) high—that is the part where the new strip/the lower part of the front is installed. This means that 2cm (0.8 inches) of the hinge will be visible below. Cutting or modifying this part is not possible. The baseboard/plinth also needs to be modified and cannot be hooked in because the dishwasher extends a bit further forward than the cabinet feet and the baseboard attachment combined.

The Vario hinge, which as far as I know cannot be installed afterwards, is said to only move the front by about 1.5cm (0.6 inches) when opened, so that wouldn’t be enough.

There is a list from Siemens online where you can look up which front height combined with plinth height and XXL or non-XXL dishwasher fits which method. I recently came across it by chance, but didn’t save it and can’t find it right now, otherwise I would share the link...

The Behjälplig was not available, so I have no experience with it. I would like to try it out at the Ikea showroom to see how it ‘feels’ opening and closing. Maybe it is a viable option if it feels solid enough and allows unlimited openings, since dishwasher doors can be somewhat sensitive to twisting. Only the furniture front stabilizes them sufficiently, but I don’t really see this effect with the Behjälplig yet. Does nobody have it??

Read a bit further up.
I bought BEHJÄLPLIG last week from the online shop. In the end, I didn’t care about the shipping cost.
I just wanted to make progress.
In the gallery, you can see that it works. I have an XXL dishwasher from Neff; isn’t it even the same model as Bosch and Siemens???

Yes, I have read about it, otherwise I wouldn’t have posted anything. It’s clear that it can be done, but my question was HOW it works. Not in terms of construction or building plans, but whether it functions satisfactorily or if it rattles or sticks somewhere for some reason. Like I wrote. Can you imagine using it daily for the next few years, or not really?

Thanks for the info, I now have the container... and the Siemens folding hinges here, and I wanted to decide today how to proceed...

I installed it using the BEHJÄLPLIG method, without folding hinges or anything similar.
In my opinion, it will hold up for many years. The only thing that might be noticeable:
take a look at my picture. Since this is an XXL machine, I couldn’t work with 40/20/20 cm (16/8/8 inches) fronts.
I added a 10 cm (4 inch) filler panel above the 40 cm (16 inch) base cabinet.
This panel is fixed in place, and the gap between it and the movable 40 cm (16 inch) front is slightly larger than usual.
This couldn’t be avoided because the mechanism that slides the entire front upward when folding down the door starts a little late,
so the gap had to be a bit bigger than normal.
However, this is not noticeable at all, and I am very satisfied with the BEHJÄLPLIG system.
