Hello,
this week our windows were installed. Unfortunately, all the corners of the windows look quite damaged, as if the corners were dragged across the floor. See the photos.
Since this is the case with all the windows, I assume it is a production issue.
I have already informed my window installer and expect to receive a response on Monday.
For my own "preparation":
1. Is this considered normal and something I would have to accept if necessary?
2. Is there any way to repair this?

I will..Are you serious? And you still let yourself be sold this as a "good will"? Why don’t you let him fix his own mess?
I thought the same. Why should I fix the botched work myself? You lose all warranty coverage, especially if you don't manage to do it properly on your own.
What kind of discount are you actually getting in cash? A discount on some service is basically worthless if you didn't know the original price beforehand. Otherwise, the 15€/m (5 USD/ft) plywood window sill suddenly costs 200€, and then you get a 100€ discount ^^

So, we have now agreed. I will (try to) sand down and clean the corners as best as possible. Ouch. In a warranty dispute, you are the "customer" party—are you now trying to act as the contractor’s assistant at the same time?https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

I would never agree to that; in the end, it looks worse than before (how are you supposed to fix it when the corners are already chipped), and the construction company will just say you damaged it yourself. The discount (if you can even call it that) doesn’t help when you constantly look at the damaged window corners. Why would a homeowner accept this, especially when paying a lot of money? We had a tiny flaw (small bubble) in the glass of three windows, and those were replaced immediately without any discussion.
Best regards,
Sabine

This is clearly a minor visual imperfection (compared to the entire window), which seems to be caused by the manufacturing process.
I’ve checked with friends and acquaintances: across different manufacturers, edges are sometimes better, but sometimes even less neat.
Since there is neither a significant visual defect (such as scratches on the window, wrong color, etc.) nor a functional issue, the chances of success in a dispute are quite low.
I prefer to avoid stress and feel well supported in case a real problem arises. I’m simply not the type of homeowner who threatens legal action over every little thing.
