Hello,

this week our windows were installed. Unfortunately, all the corners of the windows look quite damaged, as if the corners were dragged across the floor. See the photos.
Since this is the case with all the windows, I assume it is a production issue.

I have already informed my window installer and expect to receive a response on Monday.

For my own "preparation":
1. Is this considered normal and something I would have to accept if necessary?
2. Is there any way to repair this?

So, we have now agreed.
I will (try to) sand down and clean the corners as best as I can.
As a goodwill gesture, the window company is giving us a discount on the interior window sills.

Because the interior window sills cost so much. Don’t let yourself get involved in such nonsense!

Have you tried searching on Google before writing such nonsense here?!

There is a "Guideline for the Assessment of the Visual Quality of Glass in Construction."

It states that certain so-called "defects" are not actually defects.

The guideline has no legal relevance whatsoever.

Using Google and being able to assess the found text are two completely different things!
It talks about glass and not about (plastic) parts of the frame. Also, the guideline is described as “application guideline within the relationship between the manufacturer and processor of glass products.” (Source: HP glaswelt). So, the customer is excluded from this. Besides, it is only a guideline and not a standard.

By now, I’m somewhat divided on these kinds of matters. If they did a poor job, they should fix it. However, I tend to do things myself sometimes to avoid making it worse. If you want it done well, do it yourself...

Unfortunate situation, but to some extent, I can understand the do-it-yourself approach. Still, I wouldn’t accept the “trick” with cheaper window sills. It should be worth more than that.
