Hello,

this week our windows were installed. Unfortunately, all the corners of the windows look quite damaged, as if the corners were dragged across the floor. See the photos.
Since this is the case with all the windows, I assume it is a production issue.

I have already informed my window installer and expect to receive a response on Monday.

For my own "preparation":
1. Is this considered normal and something I would have to accept if necessary?
2. Is there any way to repair this?

No, it would look different then.

Apparently, you lack the necessary imagination to consider a possible cause of the damage. And of course, there is a defect here. An item is free of defects if it has a condition that is typical for items of the same kind and that the buyer can expect based on the type of the item. Such windows, or their condition, are not common, and the homeowner can expect better quality. It is possible that rework could result in a defect-free item, but that still needs to be proven...

You’re right, I’m not imagining things, unlike others here.

Let’s wait and see what the OP’s window installer has to say.

The corners look really bad but can still be reworked. However, the chamfer will always end up quite large, which doesn’t look very good. I doubt anyone will replace it.
If you have individual contracts, you obviously can’t pay the invoice. He can simply remove everything if he wants his property back. Be very careful that he doesn’t damage anything else, and if he does, be prepared to take strong action... (legally not entirely clean ^^ )

Here is a picture of what a proper window edge looks like. Please ignore the dirt, the window cleaner has already been hired...

Our windows were assembled on site. The profiles were cut and glued here. Only the glass arrived beforehand. So damage to the profile during transport is not possible...

Hello,

I was away on a business trip until last night, so there’s nothing new yet. The window installer has basically replied to my email: "everything is normal, it just needs to be cleaned."

However, I have already arranged for an on-site inspection to take place first. Either today or tomorrow, I will report back.

So, we have now reached an agreement. I will (try to) sand and clean the corners as thoroughly as possible. As a goodwill gesture, the window manufacturer is giving us a discount on the interior window sills.
