Hello,

this week our windows were installed. Unfortunately, all the corners of the windows look quite damaged, as if the corners were dragged across the floor. See the photos.
Since this is the case with all the windows, I assume it is a production issue.

I have already informed my window installer and expect to receive a response on Monday.

For my own "preparation":
1. Is this considered normal and something I would have to accept if necessary?
2. Is there any way to repair this?

Amateur opinion, as expected... the general contractor/window installer will not replace anything. You might as well stand on your head.

Unless, of course, they want to avoid further hassle and money is no object.

I understand that the corners of the windows are always polished. However, in my opinion, this has been done very untidily here. Maybe I am just used to "better" windows and workmanship...

Oh, look at that. It is well known that this is completely normal.

You shouldn’t have to tolerate it, but replacing is probably like using a cannon to kill a sparrow.

It just looks like no follow-up work was done. However, the window manufacturer can fix this afterwards with solvent or even simple sandpaper.

If this appearance and quality are normal and you were a tradesperson, you would have had to declare bankruptcy many years ago ;-)

I also don’t see what is supposed to be normal about that?!

It is normal for rework to be done, which apparently has NOT happened here yet. The ridge was only machined down after welding, and it seems the machine was not very precise.

However, this is not a problem. You just need to address it, and someone will come to fix the edge so that nothing is visible anymore.

P.S. I actually wanted to comment after the first reply, but I held back because I thought someone knowledgeable would respond.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, so I decided to write after all.

Have the window installer come back and rework the corners. Half an hour of work. Issue resolved.
