ᐅ Attaching the Ikea Billy Morebo doors to the Ikea Billy bookshelf

Hello everyone,

I just signed up here today because I’m feeling quite frustrated and hope you can help me out!

A friend gave me the Billy Morebo doors as a gift – unfortunately without any instructions! The doors are already assembled and now I want to attach them to my Billy shelf unit. The problem is, I don’t know how to do it! I understand how the hinges fit into the doors, as well as the brackets inside the shelf. However, these darn things just don’t click in! As soon as I apply any pressure, the doors slide back out!

Does anyone have any tips on how to securely fix the doors in place?

Hej ho,

There are small hooks on the door hinges that need to be slid "underneath" the cabinet hinges. Then, press once flat-handed against them, and it should click into place!

... unfortunately, that doesn’t work for me!! I’ve even tried it without the cabinet – the hooks fit well, but when I press (or hit) them, the rest doesn’t click in! As soon as I give a slight push, everything comes loose again. These things just don’t hold firmly!! I’m afraid the cabinet doors will fall out right away.

So it can only be because the hinges on the doors don’t align perfectly with the others. With the Morebo ones, it’s always a bit of trial and error. Make sure you position them exactly to the millimeter. I had to hold mine up to the cabinets several times before they fit properly. It has to be exact to the millimeter.

I have all small doors and installed four in each of my tall Billy units. It takes a bit of experimenting.

Can I take a look at it? I live in Hamburg, near the city center. Normally, you just need to tighten the screws firmly, and then those things will hold 😀

Yay, we did it!!! The hammer was the key to the puzzle 😀

Just hit it properly, and those things hold perfectly. Now my doors are installed, and Maren is happy 😀
