Hi,
We are having trouble installing our doors (Nodsta) on a 40cm x 40cm (16in x 16in) horizontal wall cabinet. It seems that the pre-drilled holes for the hinges are not designed for hinges that open upwards (Utrusta). Can anyone help? Thanks.

That's nice of you to put in so much effort. A true Ikea fan! Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to attach a photo here; otherwise, I would have included one.

Uploading is a bit awkward. You first need to upload the image to the photo gallery. After uploading, the image will be displayed along with a link that you can highlight, copy, and then paste into the text.

Of course, the door on Nodsta cannot be rotated by 90° due to the handle profile. It would be worth trying whether a 40x40 drawer front might be more suitable after all.

Thanks for the tip. We will first try using a wooden dowel and filler. My husband is very confident that he can manage it. I will let you know if it worked.
There were no problems with the larger doors.

If the wooden dowel is securely glued in place, it should hold. If the filler is supposed to hold the screw, it could be risky. It would be problematic if it comes loose after a while and the door falls on someone's head.
