Hello everyone, I recently installed IKEA Metod drawers in my kitchen and am wondering if there are any practical tips or accessories specifically recommended for organizing and making the most of these drawers. I’m looking for suggestions on how to maximize storage efficiently, such as inserts, dividers, or other useful tools that make handling easier and help keep things neatly arranged. Do you have any experience or recommendations for Metod cabinet drawers? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the tips so far. I find the suggestion of height-adjustable inserts interesting – does anyone know of specific brands or models that reliably fit into the Metod drawers? I ask because I want to be sure about the material quality to avoid having to replace them after a short time. Or are there any recommendations on how to supplement the original IKEA parts without affecting the drawer functionality?

For additional information: There are inserts specifically designed for IKEA Metod drawers made from wood or plastic, such as bamboo inserts, which fit very precisely. They are usually height-adjustable through stepped levels or integrated brackets, allowing flexible compartmentalization. Besides IKEA, there are also universally adjustable options from third-party suppliers that use rubber feet or non-slip mats to prevent sliding. It is important that the material is sturdy and water-resistant, especially in kitchen environments. This helps maintain the functionality of the drawers and significantly improves organization.

I’ve been considering that as well. Bamboo not only looks good but also feels pleasant to the touch. For me, the well-thought-out organization provided by such inserts was a real stress reliever in the kitchen.

For planning, I recommend measuring all items first and then choosing an appropriate solution. It saves a lot of trouble if the inserts fit the drawer and its contents perfectly. With Metod, there are also different depths available, which is definitely something to keep in mind.

Materials like bamboo are durable, but plastic is easier to clean. For high humidity areas, such as the kitchen, I would prefer plastic inserts.

Thank you for the interesting discussion so far. Finally, I would like to know if anyone has practical experience with individual DIY solutions – that is, custom inserts or modifications that work particularly well in everyday use with Metod drawers. Are there any clever tricks for converting or enhancing these that IKEA does not offer? Preferably with tips on implementation and materials.
