Good morning everyone,

I am currently looking into the IKEA Platsa cabinet system and seeking information about the drawer slides. Specifically, my question is: Are there versions of IKEA Platsa that come standard with soft-closing drawer slides? Or do all available models come with basic drawer slides without integrated damping? I would like to know if I need to specifically look for a variant with soft-close technology when purchasing, or if this feature is generally not offered with Platsa.

I would appreciate any helpful tips, personal experiences, or information about compatible retrofit options.

I have had soft-close slides installed for 2 years, and they work perfectly. No issues so far.

As a note: There are also external dampers that can be attached to the drawer frame.

This is a simple solution without modifying the slides, but it doesn’t look perfect.

It can be a temporary solution if the modification is too complicated.

I can only recommend it: soft-close drawer slides are a real upgrade for your Platsa cabinets!

I did my modifications a year ago and have no regrets at all! They operate super smoothly and protect the furniture!

Definitely go for it if you use drawers frequently!
