ᐅ Dishwashers with 45 cm and 60 cm widths and the common issues with their front panels

Hello everyone,

I have been planning an IKEA kitchen for 4 weeks now and keep running into problems due to limited space. I just registered here and would like to ask a few questions. The forum search only helped me somewhat regarding 24-inch (60cm) dishwashers, but the 18-inch (45cm) dishwasher issue still remains.

So, here are my questions:

1. I want to fit a 18-inch (45cm) IKEA dishwasher with a Ringhult front panel (red high gloss). Is this possible? Maybe with some DIY modifications?

2. Is it possible to install a 18-inch (45cm) non-IKEA dishwasher? If yes, can it also be fitted with a RINGHULT front? Semi-integrated preferred, but fully integrated is also an option.

3. Same as question 2, but with a 24-inch (60cm) dishwasher?

4. Will there be any issues if the dishwasher is placed at the end of the kitchen run? I read something about attaching the fronts to adjacent cabinets using screws. Does this also apply to semi-integrated dishwashers?

That’s all for now. Looking forward to your answers.

With a semi-integrated model, I don’t have to worry about any hinges. I just need to make sure I get a front from IKEA that fits. Are there fronts available at IKEA that would work for semi-integrated models? Are my observations correct?

No, the front needs to be cut to the correct height. Whether it works without a replacement part (ERSÄTTARE) on a semi-integrated model, you would have to try it out.

Thank you for your responses!

I am likely going to plan a red front for the kitchen and combine it with white elements such as handles, dishwasher, and built-in combination oven. The white glossy Ringhult front for a 45cm (18 inch) partially integrated dishwasher fits in quite well with that. I won’t know how it will turn out until 1 1/2 months from now. Until then, I have to wait before installation.
