Hello everyone!

We are about to make the final decision on our exterior paint color and I would appreciate your inspiration. Ideally with the exact color code in your color system.

We have experimented with various online color visualizers. We like shades in the range of sand / greige / taupe, leaning towards the lighter side.
The front door will be dark gray (iron mica), and the windows are, as usual, white.
I don’t want a completely white facade because then the windows would have too little contrast.

Feel free to share other ideas or suggestions as well; they don’t necessarily have to be along the lines I mentioned. =)

If only the intermediate floor is highlighted in a different color, as in two of the photos I took, in my opinion this was intended to preemptively address the discoloration of the facade caused by the insulation around the intermediate floor. After about 10 years, many houses tend to show a dirt streak exactly at that spot.

At least, that’s how it was explained to me, and I found it plausible enough to keep that in mind. Entire floors – well, maybe the builders couldn’t agree and ended up splitting the building into two sections?

Are you referring to monolithic construction?

Yes, especially there, but also with timber frame or panel construction, the insulation in the intermediate ceiling differs from that in the wall areas. I am not sure how noticeable any issues might become over time.

Here are a few more pictures, and then that’s enough for now.
I thought there was supposed to be a bright blue house somewhere, but I couldn’t seem to find it, and the mosquitoes drove me home...

I find it interesting how the different colors affect the mood. The sky is quite dull in all the pictures. Only the first and fourth houses stand out, appearing bright, cheerful, and uplifting. The dark gray one feels gloomy, really depressing—I could see myself getting depressed there.

My parents had a nice house. A detached single-family house from the late 1970s, top quality for that time and still very usable today... The gable ends were covered with tasteful medium red-brown facing bricks, and the eaves sides were painted with a slightly yellowish cream tone on the render. Friendly and inviting. Now they have painted it in a very dark anthracite shade according to personal taste—that’s almost black... It looks really awful, doesn’t match the brickwork at all, and together with the new plastic windows in standard anthracite, it just looks terrible in my opinion. I totally get where you’re coming from—I’d feel depressed too 😱

That’s your personal opinion. I prefer light-colored facades with gray accents. I would never paint my house orange or yellow. It somehow feels like the 1970s.
