Our heat pump currently runs about 20 hours a day at 4–6 kW output. Otherwise, the house would be cold. House built to KfW 55 standard with a very good blower door test. It’s similar for us. Outside temperature just below 0°C (32°F), windy, no sun, inside 22°C (72°F). Heat pump runs around the clock at about 3–4 kW. KfW 55 standard, 165 m² (1776 ft²).
Sunlight makes a big difference, which is missing right now. On days like this, 20–25 kW of electricity is used, including hot water.
I think similarly in our case. Around 140 sqm (1507 sq ft) plus a basement. Not KfW standard but probably comparable to KfW55. The basement is kept at about 18°C (64°F). However, since we moved in at the end of November, which was the first winter, I’m cautious about comparing the values. According to the internal meter, the electricity consumption is about 20-25 kWh per day, including hot water. This was during temperatures ranging from 0 to sometimes -8°C (18°F) at night. There is no separate meter; I might install one later for monitoring. The values from the internal meter seem plausible because the total consumption is about 33 kWh per day for the house, with some technical equipment and controlled ventilation, for 4 people. I think 10 kWh per day can be used in the house itself, right?

Maybe Zaba is running a server farm in the building?
Or simply more people living in the house? The heat emitted by human bodies shouldn’t be underestimated. Haha. I have heat lamps in the basement with bushy plants that smell kind of strange.
Just kidding, I’m currently running the system with 25/20.5/0 and a 2K hysteresis. The house is also a KfW55 with a basement, just like yours. But as I said, there’s no fooling yourself—the heat pump can run in the opposite direction at any time. See the posts from the weekend.
The outdoor temperature yesterday at 11:30 a.m. was 1.4 degrees Celsius (35°F) according to Netatmo.
Also, the toughest days and nights are still ahead. I heard yesterday and today that there is currently a special winter weather pattern over the polar region, which will bring us one of the coldest winters in years until at least mid-March.
