Our average annual consumption over the last two years is about 3400 kWh. Heated area is 218 m² (2345 ft²), hot water at 50°C (122°F).Very similar figures here. Last year 3300 kWh for 205 m² (2205 ft²), KfW55 standard, and hot water at 46°C (115°F).I always look forward to cold weather. That's when the brine heat pump can finally demonstrate its advantages over an air source heat pump. 😉
Regarding the consumption data: To compare these meaningfully, in addition to square meters and hot water temperature, you also need:
- how many square meters are actually heated (it’s not uncommon to see 250 m² (2690 sq ft) stated, but only 120 m² (1290 sq ft) heated)
- room temperature
- number of occupants (for hot water consumption)
- KfW classification
- location (on the cold Swabian Alb or in the Rhine plain)
- …

We had a separate meter installed by the electrician, which records everything related to the heating system. Otherwise, we only have one meter from the energy provider.Could you please tell me something about these costs? What kind of meter did the electrician install? Was it calibrated? Is it a different type?
