I found a photo of the heat pump meter reading from exactly one year ago.

My annual consumption is 4,600 kWh for 200 m² (2,150 sq ft) of heated area.
That’s 23 kWh/m² (2.1 kWh/sq ft) including hot water per year.

Have you ever calculated this for your house?
I think 23 kWh/m² including hot water is a good value.

You are talking about electricity, not heat output. And you include water usage (which is very individual) calculated per square meter. I think that’s already complicated enough, but then breaking down water consumption by square meter as well? 😉

Of course, I calculate in electricity. After all, that’s ultimately what I pay for 😉 Maybe I should have added that I’m not referring to the heating load per square meter... Of course, hot water is individual, but it’s hard to separate that out.

I already find the electricity consumption relatively high. Over the past two years, we have averaged around 3400 kWh per year. The heated area is 218 m² (2346 sq ft), with hot water set to 50°C (122°F).

Silly question from someone who doesn’t have a separate heat pump meter: does the heat pump meter also record all the pumps and similar equipment?
