Hello,

Does anyone have a tip for affordable pleated blinds (plissé) wider than 1.50m (5 feet), which is usually the maximum? I need 1.65m (5.4 feet) for a fixed glazing section (window strip) and, if possible, a mounting method that doesn’t require drilling. Or would you drill into the frame for installation?

Thanks!

We are currently also considering pleated blinds. I'm probably overthinking it again, but: Are those pleated blinds that clamp into the window frame (the bestsellers from the big store with the "a" that almost everyone has nowadays) actually suitable for the windows?
The part where they clamp also sits on the window frame seal. Won't that make my house less airtight or damage my windows?

In cases like this, I would always recommend contacting the window manufacturer who supplied and installed the windows in the house. They usually have the qualified specialists and the appropriate systems.

The pleated blind here is over 150cm (59 inches) wide. Ordered from an online shop in AT. It’s a fixed glazing; I didn’t want to drill into the frame or anything else. The mounting brackets are glued onto the frame and I have to say, they hold very well.

The small pleated blind is from the big A, designed for clipping on.

White window blind with horizontal slats in the frame; side pull cord visible.

White window blind with closed slats; green watering can with yellow cloth next to windowsill.

Beige horizontal window blinds above a light kitchen countertop; cables lying on the floor.

And the clip-on blind doesn’t interfere with the seal or the rubber gasket?
It looks like the clip might sit on top of it.

The clamp goes back down at the rear... I’ll see if I can capture that in a photo....

Here are the pictures....

Thanks for the pictures!
Isn’t this rubber responsible for sealing the window properly? If I wedge a piece of plastic in there, wouldn’t that reduce the window’s tightness and allow air to flow in or out?

Good luck,
