Hello everyone.
According to the builder, our floor-to-ceiling windows have been properly sealed from the INSIDE.
The exterior sealing is supposedly our responsibility...
How would you go about doing this?
There will be a fully covered terrace in front of all the windows... but I still think everything should be sealed correctly.
Or am I worrying unnecessarily?

You are currently only dealing with brick cladding. If the exterior is plastered, the plasterer is responsible for the base waterproofing. And don’t worry, I’m not mixing that up.
I only address this issue on Facebook if it has been explicitly agreed upon. The tile setter usually doesn’t apply silicone either, unless you have commissioned them to do so.
But well, we have different views and experiences on this.
Good luck

Our builder still insists that everything has been done properly and that we have nothing to worry about.
Since he has never let us down and has always been honest with us, I am close to just approving everything... There will be a large terrace roof above the window anyway. We specifically ordered a low threshold, so paving should be done up to that point.
In your opinion, how should I protect this? Would applying XPS insulation and sealing it be enough?

I’m facing the same issue... but in my case, it involves separate trades. The window installer pointed it out to me but said it’s not his responsibility. He told me it should be either the landscaper or the roofer.
My roofer doesn’t do that kind of work.
My shell contractor wanted to recommend a partner for it, but I don’t know what that would cost.

How do you think I should protect the whole thing now? Just stick on XPS and that’s it?There should be a drainage channel between the sill and the terrace flooring.
