So far, I have only received one offer and was shocked:
Aluminum rods, clear glass roof 10mm (0.4 inches) thick (you can walk on it!), about 2m x 5m (6.5 feet x 16.5 feet), cost around 10,000.
Is this realistic?
Of course, a plastic roof is much cheaper, but I’m afraid it will become dirty and opaque after a few years.
What is your opinion?
Thanks,
Alberto
PS Sorry for my poor German; it is not my native language...

My brother had also been searching for an affordable option for a long time and then ordered the anodized aluminum frame, 5 x 3 meters (16.4 x 9.8 feet), from Rexin for 2400€. He sourced the glass somewhere else for a reasonable price, 800€. The installation took the whole day, and the special anchors for the insulation were also quite expensive.
How satisfied are you with RD roofing? It seems to be significantly cheaper!
Regarding shading, wouldn’t it be possible to apply a reflective film to the glass? It blocks over 90% of UV radiation! (I used it in my attic bedroom back then.)

You should actually be able to walk on the glass without any problems, I think...You can do that here, but I imagine it would be quite slippery to walk on the wet, sloped glass roof.
