Hello, we have a nice large freestanding refrigerator that we would like to include in our new kitchen. We would like to integrate it into a wall (leading to the pantry). The pantry is not heated. How can we make sure the refrigerator fits as tightly as possible in the wall recess? Visually, it should match the adjacent pantry door. The design looks pretty good in the drawing, but how can this be implemented in practice? The wall is made of solid sand-lime brick. Best regards, Steffi.
Thanks for your tips. Here are some pictures:

By making the wall "work" as if the outlet for the refrigerator was a second door opening.
We have already done this for a larger kitchen unit as well; in the attachment, you can see it as the rectangle in the wall between the kitchen and the pantry. Unfortunately, I have a picture of the protruding island, but not of the rear kitchen unit.
Best regards, Bauexperte

Yes, exactly... but how do you make it reasonably sealed between the so-called second door opening and the refrigerator? That was—in our case—the kitchen contractor’s problem.
I recall that the unit fit just right into the opening once the walls were fully finished. You can't really expect more than that; after all, you can’t create a permanent connection between the wall and the refrigerator.

Yes, you’re right... the pantry won’t be completely cool. It’s more like a storage room for non-perishable items, kitchen appliances, and other things that don’t fit in the main kitchen. Hmm... I’ll have to check how the door opens on our refrigerator to see if it sticks out. Thanks for the tip. Best regards, Steffi33.
