Hello, we have a nice large freestanding refrigerator that we would like to include in our new kitchen. We would like to integrate it into a wall (leading to the pantry). The pantry is not heated. How can we make sure the refrigerator fits as tightly as possible in the wall recess? Visually, it should match the adjacent pantry door. The design looks pretty good in the drawing, but how can this be implemented in practice? The wall is made of solid sand-lime brick. Best regards, Steffi.

please don’t be offended—but for this “standard” model, I wouldn’t go through the effort involved. What if you decide later to buy a side-by-side combination unit?

But then the trim strip would be set back from the wall – right, Sigi? That would also create a different effect than the frame of the utility room door.
Honestly, I think that's a bad idea, especially if it means installing a standard door at a lower height than usual.
And next time, the 202 cm (6 ft 7.5 in) tall freestanding unit won't fit in the niche.
