Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to better organize my Ikea Pax wardrobe and am looking for storage ideas that fit well with the system. I am especially interested in solutions that integrate seamlessly without compromising the modular character of Pax, while also increasing usability, for example for shoes, accessories, or seasonal clothing. Are there any tips or experiences regarding which types of inserts, boxes, shelves, or hanging organizers work best? It would also be great to know how to design the whole setup so that it looks appealing and is practical at the same time, as I have rather small rooms.

I look forward to many helpful suggestions!

Hi RENNON,

Pax is really a great system – flexible yet sturdy! My favorite storage ideas are usually a combination of shelves and drawers, because you can store so much in a small space. 😉 Especially in smaller rooms, I find storage baskets in the drawers very practical, as they keep everything organized and save you from searching endlessly.

What I highly recommend is interior cabinet lighting! It looks stylish and helps you find what you’re looking for faster. And while we’re on accessories – hook rails or small boxes for belts, ties, or jewelry can be easily integrated into the doors.

From my experience, it’s important to arrange everything so that frequently used items are within easy reach, while less often used ones are placed higher or lower.

Have fun setting up – with Pax you can really get creative here!

Hello RENNON,

Regarding your question about which storage ideas work best with the Pax system: The great thing about the Pax system is its modular design. This makes it easy to integrate various inserts and organizers. I always recommend first considering which clothing items or objects you want to store.

For shoes, for example, specialized shoe drawers or shelves can be fitted neatly into the wardrobe. For accessories like jewelry or watches, inserts with small compartments or organizer trays are useful.

Drawers with compartments or basket inserts also help to store rarely used or seasonal clothing in an orderly way.

Clothes rails of different heights offer plenty of space for shirts, jackets, and pants. It’s best to choose your components based on your needs—not just on what looks nice. In the end, the most important thing is to keep everything organized so you spend as little time as possible searching inside your wardrobe.

If you like, I can share some examples from my own experience.

I find that especially interesting because until now I have only used a single clothes rail without paying much attention to varying heights. Do you have any tips on how to plan this most efficiently to make the best use of space? Is it better to install several shorter rails side by side or one longer rail, perhaps combined with shelves?

Also, I’m wondering if you have experience with the Pax Komplement inserts. Are the boxes and baskets really practical for everyday use or just nice additions?

I would appreciate any advice!

Hello RENNON,

Since you’re looking for especially suitable storage ideas for Pax, I would like to add some points that I find very helpful:

- Make full use of modularity: Take advantage of the option to combine different heights and depths for clothing rods. For example, you can install a short clothing rod directly above a drawer unit where you can hang pants or shirts.

- Drawers with dividers: Especially for smaller items like underwear, scarves, or socks, inserts or organizers in the drawers are extremely useful. This prevents everything from mixing together in one large compartment and keeps things organized.

- Use the doors: On the inside of the wardrobe doors, you can create additional storage space with rails or hooks without losing usable area.

- Boxes made of sturdy material: The Pax-KOMPLEMENT boxes are practical, especially those with solid walls to allow stable stacking. For easy access, I recommend transparent or labeled boxes.

Overall, these tips help you maximize the functionality of your Pax. If you have specific measurements or special requirements, more tailored suggestions can be made.
