I have a question specifically for all owners of IKEA Hemnes dressers: Which spare parts do you consider most important to maintain the durability and functionality of the dresser? I’m not only referring to obvious parts like drawer handles, but also hidden components such as drawer slides, screws, or connectors. Which parts should you always keep on hand to ensure optimal maintenance and the longest possible service life of Hemnes dressers? I would appreciate a clear assessment, preferably with explanations for the prioritization of the spare parts!

In my opinion, drawer slides are absolutely essential! If they stick or break, you notice it immediately because the drawers often jam or come completely off the track. 😃 Especially with older Hemnes models, the sliding rails are usually the number one wear part! Then there are the drawer handles—they are important not only functionally but also visually, to keep the furniture looking well-maintained.

I would definitely recommend always having these parts as spares, especially since they are relatively easy to replace and significantly affect the overall appearance of the dresser. If you act early, you can enjoy your furniture for a long time! Just stay on top of it and replace the parts in time!

Interesting question, but I think focusing solely on individual replacement parts is a bit narrow. Of course, drawer slides and handles are important, but people often overlook how crucial wood connectors and screws are. They hold everything together!

If a connector breaks or loosens, the dresser wobbles or becomes unstable – and that is more dangerous than a broken slide.

Why absolutely essential? The entire dresser doesn’t fall apart just because a slide sticks – it’s annoying but not a structural risk. I would focus on reliable connecting elements because without them, the dresser is basically just a pile of wood.

In the end: replacement parts that ensure stability should be at the top of the list.

Summary of my experience:
- Drawer slides: important for functionality
- Fasteners (screws, connectors): important for stability
- Handles: replace if damaged

You should definitely pay attention to these three things. Other parts are usually not as urgent.
