Doorbird seems Apple-like to me: looks nice and works, but in the end, you pay for the design. So far, I haven’t found a “better” feature set. I initially wanted to work with the new Unifi Doorbell, but it’s sold out forever. I recently got the new eufy Doorbell and I like it. A reaction time of 5 seconds is acceptable for a video doorbell. Certainly no Ring, which additionally costs monthly fees, as already mentioned.

The important thing is that the electrician installs deep mounting boxes so you can retrofit Shelly or similar devices if needed.

Deep flush-mounted boxes (63mm (2.5 inches)) are standard for us.

The Doorbird is quite interesting for us because the cloud service is free, and the Doorbird can be combined with the new ekey Fingerprint sLine flush-mounted fingerprint scanner and doorbell (which looks very high-quality visually).

The new ekey Fingerprint xLine is mounted individually on the facade, and then the Ring, Eufy, or other surface-mounted doorbell is installed separately above it (which doesn’t look as good visually).

For me, fingerprint access is similar to a Quooker—nice to have but not essential 😎 The Eufy video doorbell is so small that you can barely see it from a distance. We install it on the concrete pillar of the fence. I’m pretty easygoing about that :-)

There is no flush-mounted version available from Ring, Eufy, or other Wi-Fi doorbells.

At our place, the doorbell is mounted on the facade right next to the front door (so the appearance is quite important).

It works, but in my opinion, it sometimes takes too long for the calls to reach the phone. However, this is common with almost all systems and depends on many factors.
