Hello
we are currently building our new house.
We had the first appointment with the electrician, and for the smart home system, he recommended Free@home.
The electrician does not offer KNX.
What would you recommend? Should we go with Free@home or install a wireless smart home system ourselves later?

I believe the most important thing is smart external venetian blinds.
I believe the most important thing is smart external venetian blinds.
Our requirements are as follows:
Automatic shading (for heat protection) – unfortunately, we only have roller shutters (venetian blinds were not possible).
Link roller shutters to window sensors.
Lighting control.
Possibly a few power outlets.
I don’t think smart control for underfloor heating makes much sense, does it?
What else is there?
We want to control all of this via physical switches (e.g., light switches) as well as by smartphone or voice assistants like Alexa.
What do you think of Free@Home?
Or would a wireless smart home system be sufficient for us? (For example, EnOcean or the new Matter standard if it comes out.)

With roller shutters, it’s basically just up and down.
So not much smart technology is needed, a few Shellys are enough.
If you also want the rest (lighting) controlled by switches, there’s nothing particularly smart either.
That can also be done with Shelly or Hue devices or something similar.
