Hello
we are currently building our new house.
We had the first appointment with the electrician, and for the smart home system, he recommended Free@home.
The electrician does not offer KNX.
What would you recommend? Should we go with Free@home or install a wireless smart home system ourselves later?

How often does this happen? For some customers, it happens more often, especially when they change providers as often as they change their clothes.
I often visit customers because the inverter isn’t transmitting data. The first question I ask is whether they have a new router; this usually explains the problem.

Registering all devices is done by the homepilot with the push of a button. Hence the name. Home pilot. As mentioned, suitable for rental apartments, possibly okay for retrofitting, but not for new construction.Pacc666 schrieb:
The switch itself is extremely expensive: a 16-port PoE switch costs €250 (around $275), and even €400 (around $440) for 19-inch rack mounting. A regular 16-port switch costs about €75 (around $83).
Then just use a cheaper, smaller 8-port PoE+ switch and add a regular switch for the rest if needed. I also run Unifi APs over PoE on a small Aruba switch because I only need up to 5 PoE ports. There are 8-port PoE switches from various manufacturers that, for example, don’t require a fan and come with mounting brackets for 19-inch racks. That was important for me. I connected the switches cheaply with SFP fiber modules (less than €30, around $33).
