Hello community experts,
Does anyone know if it is possible to order two countertops for an IKEA kitchen island with a countertop size of 110x90cm (43x35 inches) and have the IKEA installers join them together? The problem is that the veneer countertops are standardly available with a maximum depth of 60cm (24 inches), while I need 90cm (35 inches). In theory, it should work if two pieces are clamped together side by side lengthwise. That is, if IKEA cooperates and the installers are willing to assemble it that way...

Whether the installers are capable of handling unusual tasks cannot be determined in advance. For example, if they are employees of a logistics company who were only trained on specific tasks, they often can only do exactly what they were shown and quickly become overwhelmed with anything different.

At a timber specialist store, you should also be able to order a board made from other types of wood in 90cm (35 inches) depth.
