Hi,

are there thinner cover panels or veneers available to clad the sides of tall cabinets?

Or what do you do if a less deep wall cabinet is attached to a tall cabinet, and the outer side needs to be covered—do you use a cover panel in between?

hello kai,
you could cover the sides just like the back panel. For the stove side as well as the sink side, I found something great here. It’s also not very thick. There are versions printed with nice designs, including custom ones...

The demand arises because without knowing the situation, it is often impossible to come up with reasonable ideas.

If there is a wall to the left of the tall cabinet, you cannot see the side, so no cover panel is needed there. That adds only 1.3 cm (0.5 inches).

Is there no spacer panel planned between the wall and the tall cabinet? This is always done, because otherwise drawers might scrape against the wall or doors may not open fully at right angles since the handle would hit the wall.

Here again – as already mentioned:

Wall – tall cabinet (with refrigerator) – upper cabinet – window.

If I use two end panels (on the right side of the tall cabinet) and on the upper cabinet on the right, then I need 2*1.5cm (2*0.6 inches), which either protrudes into the window or the refrigerator can no longer open... Without the end panels, it fits (of course).

So once again my question: is there any option to get the carcass in Ikea ivory white without using the standard end panels?

No, unless you look for foils yourself on the market. The carcasses are only available in two colors.

If your wall is exactly as wide as the tall cabinet or wall cabinet, they still won’t fit well. You should allow some clearance towards the wall (uneven wall, door handle, etc.). How much space is there between the tall cabinet and the wall without the side panels? (By the way, these are only 1.3cm (0.5 inches) thick, not 1.5cm.)
