IKEA-Experte26 May 2013 18:49Yes, that’s it. There is not enough wood left at the cutout of the countertop. It is also very impractical, as there is no space for a pan handle or for maneuvering. I had no choice but to install the oven cabinet with only a 6cm (2.4 inches) gap to the wall and the cooktop above it. This just works, but the distance should definitely not be any smaller.

If the cover panel is light-colored or possibly absent (meaning just the plain white carcass), it can quickly become ugly and yellowish. On top of that, the 25-year warranty could become void because of this.

The required clearances should be specified in the installation manual for the cooktop. If these are not followed, you may face difficulties with warranty claims and your insurance!!!

"The customer pays premiums until a damage claim occurs, and then they end up empty-handed."

Nayla_106831 May 2013 00:11Hi,
as mentioned several times and as you yourself have noted, you should definitely avoid placing the cooktop on the tall cabinet.
If you have set up your kitchen in the planner, just upload a picture of it and we can all discuss the best way to solve your cooktop issue.
Best regards
