Why not just get a PERSONLIG right away?

I actually wanted to say that in my last post – it’s only a matter of time. For various reasons, we are moving earlier than originally planned (meaning this weekend) and simply cannot wait 4–6 weeks for the delivery of the countertop.

I have now chosen a different cooktop with a height of 51mm (2 inches), which gives me an 8mm (0.3 inches) ventilation gap. Now the real fun can finally begin.

After moving in, I always cut the old countertop so that I could use the cooktop and sink right away. The proper countertop was only installed once the most important things in the apartment were taken care of.

There are also 63.5cm (25 inches) deep countertops available at the hardware store, and they don’t cost much more. Just ask about them. With a 60cm (24 inches) deep countertop, even slight unevenness in the wall can cause the cabinets to be set further forward, making the space too tight.

Even without irregularities, a 60cm (24 inch) deep countertop will be too tight with METOD.

If a 63.5cm (25 inch) deep countertop with a matching finish is not available, a deeper one can be trimmed down.

Perhaps other finishes can be ordered at Hornbach. You can probably find out by phone.
If not, the manufacturer might be able to tell you who else sells countertops in that size.

So, after some consideration, we decided to go with a 63.5cm (25 inches) panel from the home improvement store, which can be picked up directly. The whole thing turned out a bit differently than we originally imagined, but we are quite satisfied with this solution.
