ᐅ Is it possible to install Ikea Metod cabinets and an oven at a height of 50 cm?

Hello everyone,
I have a 220cm (86.6 inches) tall cabinet and wanted to arrange it as follows...
Remaining
40cm (16 inches) microwave
60cm (24 inches) oven
10cm (4 inches) drawer
20cm (8 inches) drawer
20cm (8 inches) drawer
Feet
Now I have about a 3cm (1.2 inches) gap between the 10cm drawer and the oven. Is this because of the 20cm (8 inches) module system of Metod?
Do I really have to build the oven with either three 20cm drawers or two 20cm drawers? (module system)
OK, I could lower the rails that hold the shelf supporting the oven by using Spax screws, but is that officially allowed?
Right now I’m thinking that I would then also need a door above of 50cm or 70cm (20 or 28 inches), and those don’t exist either...

Strahlemann-693 May 2016 16:24Ah, so that’s what Förbättra is for! I had this floppy strip there but had no idea what it was for. Even when I looked up the article, it wasn’t clear to me...
I’ve now simply placed the cooktop at 40cm (16 inches) so that the panel behind the drawer front lines up perfectly. This way, the cooktop starts just above the top edge of the drawer. It fits perfectly.
Thanks for the important tip! I’ll use Förbättra above,

nachtvogel3 May 2016 22:37To avoid misunderstandings, the two linked items are only covers for cut edges used to close off shortened drawer fronts (acting as filler panels).
Of course, you can also install the oven at a height of 50 cm (20 inches), but then you need to use a 10 cm (4 inch) drawer front panel both below and above it.Thanks for the tip......
Hmm, I’m currently planning an IKEA kitchen as well, and it shows me the items when I select the tall cabinet for the ovens. If I click on filler strip, it places a small piece on the gaps next to the oven.
Okay... let’s take a closer look... I’ll have this situation soon too... I took a picture... there’s a gap above the oven. The parts list includes such a filler strip... but I still have a gap at the top. Probably the same for you as well.
Now I selected the filler strip and intentionally chose glossy red. You can see on the second picture where the planner places it. The parts list says – Ringhult drawer front in gloss red.
So I assume that small plastic piece is only for smaller gaps or to cover the edge between appliances… or, as you said, for cut edges and similar situations. If the gap is bigger, you’ll need a matching 10 cm (4 inch) drawer front panel.
Ah... learned something new myself again right away.
Bye, Sabine

IKEA-Experte3 May 2016 23:09The compact ovens have a height of 4555 cm (1780 inches), so the HELANDE panel is too tall to fit into the gap. Therefore, the 10 cm (4 inch) drawer front is cut down to the appropriate height and then fitted with the Förbättra cover strip (another IKEA term that no one else uses). The assembly instructions explain this well.

nachtvogel4 May 2016 01:08Hm, the only strange thing in this context is that the FÖRBÄTTRA cover strip and fitting are included in the planner for the tall cabinet with combination ovens, but I have to add the filler strip separately.
At the same time, the cabinet design always requires just one 10cm (4 inch) drawer… which is only sold in packs of two, so you would actually have a second one included—potentially for the filler strip.
Unless you do it like I do and count the drawers individually as needed, since I take all parts separately and don’t rely on the planner’s shopping list…

IKEA-Experte4 May 2016 11:22Hmm, what I find odd in this context is that the FÖRBÄTTRA cover strip and fitting are included in the planner for the tall cabinet with combination ovens, but I have to add the filler strip separately. I don’t understand this, since you say the drawer front for the filler piece is already included as a 2-pack. It would be strange if a second pack appeared in the item list.
Or do you mean the visual representation is missing, even though all parts are planned?

nachtvogel4 May 2016 21:41I mean, because nowhere does it say that I need the second front panel for the filler strip.
I thought the filler strip would also be cut from the side filler panels.
Wow, how do I explain this...
At the beginning of the tall cabinet run, I need a 5cm (2 inch) wide, 220cm (87 inch) long filler strip so, for example, the fridge door can open.
For this 5cm (2 inch) piece, I have to buy an entire side panel or end panel and then cut off a 5cm (2 inch) piece.
I assumed the filler strip between or at the end of the ovens would also be a piece cut from an end panel. Not attached at the front like a “drawer front,” but fixed between the side panels inside the cabinet. I need an end panel anyway for the filler strips at the end of the cooktop run or around the corner, so the drawer fronts don’t hit each other.
I’ve been planning the kitchen since the beginning of the year and only now realized that when I buy a pack of 10cm (4 inch) drawer fronts, I don’t get an extra one to use somewhere else, but that it’s calculated for the filler strip inside that cabinet.
Whether I include filler strips in the planner or not... I always have the 2-pack of 10cm (4 inch) drawer fronts listed in the item list.
The devil is in the details.
