does anyone know if the PRÄGEL countertops have rounded edges at both the front and the back?
Unfortunately, the IKEA product photos only show the front edge.

Maverick185423 Jul 2010 10:26Only the front edge is rounded. The back edge is not rounded, and the side is also not coated. This type of edge banding is not available at IKEA either. Your best option is to visit a hardware store or contact customer service to see if it can be ordered.

Maverick185423 Jul 2010 11:34Two edge bandings are included, but as far as I know, the backside is not coated. This is common for almost all countertops, no matter where you buy them. However, higher-quality countertops may have a coated backside. For more information, please contact IKEA directly, as I am not sure about that.
I have countertops from Quelle, Obi, and Praktiker here. None of their wall-facing sides are coated, whether inexpensive or expensive.
In any hardware store, you can also buy edge bandings. Some can be ironed on, while others need to be glued.
I hope this helps.

Nayla_10683 Aug 2010 23:48The Prägel countertop is actually only rounded at the front, while the other edges around the surface are laminated decor. Each countertop also comes with about 1.30 m (4 ft 3 in) of matching edge banding separately, in case you need to cut the board.
I assume you want to build an island or bar counter. For that, numerär panels are the best choice. With real wood, you don’t have to do anything anyway, and laminate panels come with a polypropylene edge all around. There is also additional edge banding included, although it is a bit narrower than the one already on the panel—for reasons unknown, but it’s not noticeable if you don’t know.
