berliner_12313 Jul 2015 16:27Hello,
I hope you can give me some tips on kitchen planning. I’m quite new to IKEA kitchens, but I already like their design.
For your information, the window behind the sink can still be moved if it makes sense.
I’m looking forward to your comments.
Best regards,
Björnar

IKEA-Experte13 Jul 2015 20:45Hello,
1. Supports need to be installed under the countertop next to the dishwasher, for example, UTBY.
2. A filler panel is missing between the dishwasher and the wall.
3. Will the faucet interfere when opening the window?
4. domsjö is experiencing delivery delays due to high demand. Check in advance if it might take several months.
5. Should there be a door instead of drawers under the oven?
6. Cabinets with glass doors always need to be kept very tidy.
7. If the appliances are from IKEA, be aware that new models are coming soon.

1. Wouldn’t a corner bracket on the wall be enough here?
2. I couldn’t find that.
3. No, the windows open outwards.
4. Good point, we might change it when the time comes.
5. I originally thought an extra compartment for, for example, a kitchen machine would be useful, but it could also be a pull-out drawer.
6. We now have a display cabinet... and it won’t be a showcase kitchen.
7. They have new advantages; maybe there’s a bargain to be found here.

Hello,
1. Supports need to be placed under the countertop next to the dishwasher, for example UTBY.
2. A filler panel is missing between the dishwasher and the wall.
3. Are there no issues with the faucet when opening the window?
4. DOMSJÖ is experiencing delivery difficulties due to high demand. Ask beforehand, as it might take several months.
5. Should there be a door instead of drawers under the oven?
6. With display cabinet doors, the cabinets always need to be very tidy.
7. If the appliances are from IKEA, be careful, as there are new models coming.
Hello,
thanks, I’ll plan to do it this evening.
Is there anything else that might be better, like the layout or having more or fewer cabinets? I’m still not sure about that.
Personally, I don’t like the new fronts as much as the old ones. This is especially true for the display cabinets, which no longer have the crossbars... I guess I’ll have to live with that or choose something completely different.
I will probably fix the countertop to the wall using an angle bracket or a piece of wood... that shouldn’t be a problem since it’s only about 5.5cm (2 inches) wide here. There won’t be much movement.
I’m still looking for a way to raise the plinth. We would like it 6cm (2.4 inches) higher. I have two ideas:
1. Don’t use the original plinth legs. These legs are also available in different heights, for example, online. They might just need to be attached differently.
2. A 6cm (2.4 inches) high base frame (MDF?) across the entire area. Then place the cabinets on top of that. I would probably have to do this anyway for the dishwasher since it can’t have other legs, right?
For the plinth trim, I would either install two overlapping strips or cut a side panel from a tall cabinet to match. That way I’ll have a smooth plinth again.
