Hello,
I have the VÄRDE 08-86-4930 stove and sink combination unit.

Next to it is a drawer cabinet, with the refrigerator beside that, and a countertop on top.

Now I’m moving to a larger apartment with a bigger kitchen. The room dimensions are 330 x 260 cm (130 x 102 inches).

My question is:
Should I take the existing kitchen units with me, buy new parts, add a kitchen island and/or wall cabinets (which costs around 500 euros), or buy a completely new kitchen?

The downside of VÄRDE is that so far, I haven’t found a good solution to integrate a washing machine and/or dryer under this series.

The advantages of VÄRDE, of course, are the price and the existing units.

Hello,

You could install the washing machine and dryer each inside a cabinet designed for dishwashers, but unfortunately, you would need to buy these second-hand, as they are no longer available at Ikea. Alternatively, you could purchase two Värde countertops and use one as a top cover while cutting the other into two side panels, so the washing machine and dryer can be slid in between. This creates side supports, a setup you often see in furniture catalogs.

Another option is to buy just one countertop and use side panels from an old cabinet, which you might be able to acquire cheaply, to build a custom enclosure. In both cases, you would likely need to reinforce the back with braces.

I hope I have explained my ideas clearly.

Best regards

Unfortunately, no kitchen comes with a ready-made solution to integrate a washing machine or dryer. You have to improvise yourself.
The simplest option would be a countertop with UTBY legs and placing the washing machine and dryer underneath, perhaps with a curtain in front to hide the appliances.
You can also screw a frame to the countertop to mount rails for a sliding door system, and then add matching fronts in front of the appliances.
Another option is stacking the washing machine and dryer, building a tall cabinet around them, and then fitting it with doors or, for example, a shutter.

It would be nice if the washing machine and dryer could be stored behind doors.

I have already thought about the solution with the countertop and then cutting it to size. But how do I handle the doors? Should I use FACTUM doors? As far as I know, they have a maximum width of 60cm (24 inches), so I would probably need two. Then I would need a support post down to the floor in the middle, otherwise the doors wouldn’t close properly…

Hmm, I also find it hard to imagine how the whole thing would look with the doors and especially the baseboards with Värde 🙂

I’m already looking for sink cabinets… but eBay is really quite poor at the moment 🙂

Do you perhaps know how I can raise the Värde? Just screw feet onto it?
Or in other words, can I replace the top of my existing cook and sink units with wood?

To mount doors, you need a cabinet carcass, at least one side to attach the doors. You’ll have to do quite a bit of custom work for that. However, I suspect the washing machine won’t fit in terms of depth because it requires extra space at the back for the hoses.

I’m not familiar with your washing machine—how does it behave during the spin cycle? You wouldn’t want it to vibrate the dishes out of the cabinets while spinning.

Thanks for the information. I hadn’t considered that the washing machine and dishwasher might get in each other's way... hmm. The washing machine is only 56cm (22 inches) deep.

Hmm, what other options do I have?
