Hello everyone,

We want to install the microwave at a comfortable working height in our new kitchen by placing it inside a wall cabinet. There is a cabinet designed specifically for microwaves:

White wall cabinet with front flap that folds forward, empty, visible shelf holes.

However, this cabinet only comes with an additional door above it.
We would prefer a more open design, something like this cabinet:

White wall cabinet with open door, interior shelf visible.

Will this work just as well? The microwave cabinet has a metal-colored strip at the bottom—what is its purpose?

Hello,
this one seems too narrow and what exactly is more open about it?
The microwave cabinet has a metallic strip at the bottom, what is its purpose?

20 cm front
35 cm microwave
5 cm strip
------------------------
= 60 cm total height (corresponding to the cabinet height)

Sorry, I obviously meant the one with a width of 60cm (24 inches).
More open in terms of the overall appearance. If there is no cabinet above, the simple cabinet tends to look more like a shelf.
But okay, so the trim is just decorative, and the microwave cabinet isn’t actually more stable or otherwise better suited to hold a microwave than the simple one, right?

Correct. If you click on "Item number, packaging dimensions & weight," you can see which components the cabinet consists of.
It is especially important to ensure adequate ventilation of the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
