ᐅ Is there an app for planning the installation of Ikea Platsa?

I am currently planning to assemble an Ikea Platsa wardrobe system and am looking for software or an app specifically designed for planning the installation of Platsa. The idea is to be able to accurately visualize how the individual modules can be arranged in the room, including dimensions, connection details, and possibly also to prepare the assembly instructions.

Do you have any experience with such an app or software? I am particularly interested in whether there is an official Ikea application or perhaps third-party tools that can be used to carry out the planning precisely and avoid installation errors.

There is no official Ikea app specifically for Platsa assembly planning. Ikea offers a general planner for kitchens and other furniture, but Platsa is not specifically covered.

Alternatively, you can use sketching apps or generic room planners and manually transfer the measurements.

In general, I think the market for furniture assembly apps is seriously underdeveloped. Where is the smart solution that finally combines planning and assembly, perhaps with augmented reality? Who still needs complicated 3D software when you could plan virtually right on site?

As an addition: The official Ikea planner (IKEA Home Planner) mainly focuses on kitchens, cabinets, and drawer systems, but it is not specifically designed for the Platsa system. This is partly because Platsa consists of modular units that are quite flexible in their configuration, which makes planning more complex.

My advice: Use the Ikea website, where you can find the exact dimensions of each Platsa module, and transfer these into a simple room planning app. This way, you can clearly see how everything fits together and how much space it occupies in the room.

Additionally, it helps to organize everything chronologically in a checklist before assembly. This greatly improves the overview of parts and workflow and minimizes errors during assembly.
