I’m particularly interested in how well dust, fingerprints, or other minor stains can be removed from the surfaces, and if there are any special care instructions to avoid scratches or discoloration. It would also be helpful to know if the interior spaces are easily accessible for cleaning and whether the material is generally low-maintenance or if special cleaning products might be required. Has anyone had practical experience cleaning this wardrobe?
It is definitely helpful to keep a few things in mind when cleaning the IKEA BRIMNES wardrobe. The surfaces are coated with lacquer, making them quite resistant to water and most household cleaners. However, I would advise against using aggressive cleaners or abrasive sponges, as these can scratch the surface. For regular cleaning, a soft microfiber cloth, slightly dampened, works well. This is usually enough for dust and fingerprints.
As for the interiors, they are relatively accessible since the doors open fully, allowing easy reach to the back panels. The shelves inside are generally made from the same material and can be cleaned just as easily. My tip: wipe them down once a month to prevent dust buildup and occasionally empty all compartments for a more thorough cleaning.

I’m also curious about how the cabinet handles stains, for example if coffee or juice spills on it. Are such stains easy to remove, or should you wipe them off quickly?
Is there anything you should definitely avoid using when cleaning? I once had a cabinet where strong cleaning agents damaged the surface.

The BRIMNES cabinet has a melamine-coated surface, which is quite resistant to liquids. If coffee or juice is spilled, it should be wiped off promptly with a damp cloth before the liquid dries or seeps into small grooves.
It is important not to use abrasive cleaners, stiff brushes, or solvents such as acetone or alcohol, as these can permanently damage the surface. For most everyday stains, plain water or a mild dishwashing detergent is sufficient.
Another tip: avoid wiping the cabinet with a wet cloth for extended periods to prevent moisture from accumulating in edges or joints, which could cause swelling.
