Good morning,

I’m struggling with a Pax wardrobe. Three units need to be screwed together (100cm (39 inches) - 50cm (20 inches) - 100cm (39 inches)). Does it make sense to assemble each wardrobe unit including the Pax back panel first and then screw the units together, or should you screw all units together first and attach the back panel afterwards? The instructions show both options. I want to avoid that once the back panel is attached, the units can no longer be aligned properly when screwing them together, especially since the floor is uneven.

I would assemble the back panel (or the entire wardrobe) while it’s lying down (the wardrobe is lying down, not me <g>), then stand it up and finally connect the units. Or is this the wrong approach for three units?

Best regards

Based on my experience, I would assemble the cabinets with the Pax back panel lying down and then stand them up. The Pax back panel really stabilizes the frame; without it, the whole thing feels too wobbly to me. The adjustable legs on the Pax help to level it if the floor is uneven. Otherwise, a small wooden shim or a piece of firm cardboard can be used if the legs aren’t enough. This is how we always do it in our showroom.
