Hello,
I want to integrate the IKEA trash bin into my new kitchen under the sink and have chosen the Hailo 3631-63.
After looking at the installation manual
hailo-einbautechnik.de/img/Upload/pdf/Montage/3631-45_3631-46_3631-50_3631-51_3631-53_3631-60_3631-61_3631-63_3631-80_3631-90_3631-93.pdf
I’m not sure if the trash bin fits into the Maximera drawer.
The side parts of the bin are slid over the drawer’s rails and are supposed to align flush with the drawer. Does this work easily with the Maximera drawer? And should I choose a high or medium drawer for that?
Regards
Christian

IKEA-Experte26 Aug 2016 15:03The effort required to secure the Euro-Cargo-S would not be worth it for me. For a single Maximera drawer, it is sufficient to screw a wooden batten to the floor.
@IKEA-Experte
There is some truth to that, but if I want a lid that stays "inside" when pulled out, I also have to create a second mounting option at the top for Maximera drawers, which means more DIY effort.
- Edit -
Additionally, there's the price difference of about 30 euros (a Maximera drawer costs around 170 euros, while the other option with its own rails is about 140 euros).

IKEA-Experte27 Aug 2016 10:55That's true, but I still don’t understand why anyone would want to promote the growth of mold and bacteria.

The idea that mold and bacteria growth is an issue in "this" case is nonsense.
Before the new kitchen, I had a trash bin with a flip lid, and mold regularly formed on it, which I had to clean off. This happened because even closed trash bins don’t get any air circulation, and the trash frequently touched the lid.
With the current system:
a. The bins are ventilated, so there is no longer significant residual moisture inside the bin (compared to before)
b. The trash no longer comes into direct contact with the lid, which has sufficient clearance above it.
I have removed the lid several times for cleaning but have never found any dirt (mold, etc.) like I did before.
Best regards, robi
