Hello everyone, I am currently facing a problem with my Ikea Platsa wardrobe. The dimensions of the wardrobe itself fit well in the room, but as soon as I try to get the fully assembled wardrobe through the interior door of the apartment, it doesn’t work. The door is apparently too narrow or the structure too bulky, so the wardrobe cannot pass through in width. I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with this or can offer tips on how to get the Platsa wardrobe into the apartment despite narrow doors. Is it advisable to partially disassemble the wardrobe, or are there other tricks for transport? I would appreciate concrete ideas and advice, especially regarding technical details I should keep in mind.
Additionally, some doors have frames that reduce the clear passage width. Thresholds or carpets can also further decrease the available width.
It is advisable to take precise measurements, including all wall sections around the door. Sometimes, apartments have concreted quarter- or quarter-circle steps that need to be taken into account.
Furthermore, it is important to check whether the cabinet material has any corners that could catch or snag, such as handles or protrusions.

A proven method for moving large furniture pieces through narrow doorways is to disassemble them into the largest manageable sections possible.Additionally: With Ikea furniture, keep in mind that some joints cannot be undone easily without the proper tools or expertise. There is a risk of damaging surfaces or holes.
So, before disassembling, check that all fasteners are easily accessible and that you have the right tools. Otherwise, trying to force the modules apart can quickly cause damage.
