Hello,

Last year, we assembled our L-shaped kitchen with a cooking island ourselves, which went fairly well. What remains are the end panels for the back side of our cooking island. Unfortunately, Ikea only offers a cooking island made of two rows of cabinets, so no end panels are needed on the back side. However, due to space constraints, we only have one row made up of 40-80-40 base cabinets. The standard 60cm (24 inches) end panels cannot be easily attached to this setup because the 80cm (31.5 inches) cabinet with the cooktop also has a cut-out at the bottom. Does anyone have a clever solution for attaching the end panels, possibly using non-Ikea accessories? Unfortunately, the end panels are already unpacked and here with us...

Looking forward to your suggestions,
Sandy

Hello, I would first connect the side panels using a flat connector from the hardware store, and if that is not sufficient, leave out the grid inside the cabinet and use a large angle bracket at the bottom.

Hello Saba,

I would exchange the side panels (this can be done without the packaging) with the receipt.

For our 80cm (31.5 inches) island, we installed two 40cm (15.7 inches) doors (front panels) because we flipped a 60cm (23.6 inches) cabinet on the long side. A corner cabinet was not an option. I still had a leftover strip of side panel which I screwed inside onto the doors to cover the gap between them, and then I bought four small steel brackets at the hardware store to simply attach the fronts. You need to work carefully here, as nothing can be adjusted afterward.

Best regards

Ben
