Hello everyone, I recently installed some Pax wardrobes from Ikea in my home, but I’m having trouble with the doors not closing properly. Some doors either stay slightly open or slam shut as if they’re not correctly aligned. I have already tried adjusting the hinges a bit, but so far without success.
My question is: What can I specifically do if the Pax doors don’t close correctly? Are there certain adjustments or steps I should follow to align the doors properly? Do you have any experience with this issue and tips on how to fix it permanently?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Another important point is whether the wardrobe itself is level. Even if the doors are properly adjusted, uneven floors or issues with the cabinet assembly can make closing difficult. Therefore, be sure to check with a spirit level whether your Pax carcass is standing straight and stable, and adjust the feet if necessary.

So make sure to check with a spirit level that your Pax carcass is standing straight and stable Exactly. This is often overlooked. A crooked base makes it impossible to properly adjust the doors.

You can adjust the depth with the middle screw, meaning how closely the door sits against the cabinet frame. That was a helpful tip, thank you! So far, I had mostly adjusted the height but neglected the depth. I will try the screws one by one to find the best setting.

That could definitely be the cause. I will check it immediately and, if necessary, level it with small shims. Thanks for the advice!
Hey Rowantan, that already sounds great! If you turn the screws slowly and test each time, you can probably fix the problem quickly. Keep in mind: sometimes the small gap between the door and the cabinet is normal – this allows the doors to function properly even with changes in humidity. Good luck, and don’t get frustrated; those Pax things sometimes just need a bit of care.
